English Championship club Fulham have turned down a big bid for Serbia striker AleksandarMitrovic according to the report from The Sun. It was revealed that the Cottagers rejected a £16m bid for Mitrovic who scored four goals and provided four assists in 33 games for Fulham in all competitions last season. The Serbian striker could not stop the Cottagers from suffering relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.
West Ham United secured European football at the end of last season and Mitrovic could play club football on the European scene once again if he joins the Hammers. The last time the Serbia national team hitman featured in Europe was during his time at Anderlecht. Hammers boss David Moyes masterminded European football qualification for the East London club at the end of last season and he’s said to be an admirer of the 26-year-old striker.
It was reported that Fulham are keen to retain the services of Mitrovic for the new English Championship season as the club bid to return to the top flight immediately. For Mitrovic, the Serbian is not in the same position as his club as he has targeted an exit from Fulham after a difficult personal season. Mitrovic was largely underwhelming for Fulhamin the top flight last season on the back of netting 26 goals in the English to propel the club back to the Premier League at the start of last season.
