The Serbian Football Association has recently been attempting to lure Bojan Krkic to the Serbian national side as they have been exploring the possibility of recruiting the Spanish player but FIFA has denied their request.
Bojan Krkic is a 26 year old Spanish attacker who has performed in renowned clubs such as: Barcelona, Ac.Milan and As.Roma. He has not made a single appearance for the Spanish national side for the past few years and taking into consideration all of the skilled offensive players that the head coach of Spain Julen Lopetegui has at his disposal; it seems unlikely that Bojan Krkic will be able to make a return to the Spanish national side.
Juan Mata, Nolito, Alvaro Morata, Javi Martinez, David Silva, Diego Costa and Isco are some of the offensive players that have been getting playing time in the latest 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. It’s extremely unlikely that Bojan Krkic will be called up to make a return to Spain and get playing time ahead of any of those previously mentioned players.
The head chiefs of The Serbian Football Association are aware of Bojan Krkic’s current situation and this is why they have been exploring the possibility of having Bojan perform for Serbia but it was denied by FIFA.
Bojan Krkic’s father is Serbian and this gives the 26 year old player the opportunity of being eligible for a nationality change and performs for Serbia but FIFA will not allow this to happen due to the fact that Bojan has already performed for Spain and apparently this makes it impossible to make a switch of nationality.
Serbia is currently located at the top of group A of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying stages after having defeated Moldova and Austria while drawing with Republic of Ireland. The introduction of Bojan Krkic to the Serbian national could’ve helped them in their journey of qualifying for the upcoming FIFA World Cup as well as all of their next challenges.
