Genoa midfielder Bosko Jankovic will miss the rest of the Serie A season and will be unavailable for Serbia’s World Cup campaign after injuring his left knee earlier this month.
Jankovic played just 15 minutes of the 0-0 draw with Inter Milan and picked up a left knee injury which needs arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus.
The 26-year-old had only just returned after tearing ligaments in the same knee last September.
The news will come as a big blow to Genoa who are chasing a Champions League spot in Serie A and Serbia coach Raddy Antic ahead of the World Cup.
